The Best of the Best Timed Event Rodeo is a competition for high school rodeo athletes competing in the events of tie-down roping, barrel racing, breakaway roping, pole bending, goat tying, steer wrestling and team roping. It is NOW open to 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade in the 2019-2020 school year.
Best of the Best 2020 will be held Tuesday, June 23rd- Saturday, June 27th, 2019 in Gallup, New Mexico at Red Rock Park Arena. RV check-in will be available starting Sunday, June 21st and registration will begin on Monday, June 22nd at 8:00 am with a mandatory meeting on Monday, June 22nd at 4:00 PM in the grandstands.
Event payouts are of course based upon actual participation. There is NOW $24,000 in added money guaranteed for the rodeo. 80% of entry fees will be paid out. Payouts are expected for 1st round, 2nd round, short go, and for average winners. In addition, average winners will receive a saddle; reserve average winners will receive a buckle all go round winners will receive Classic Equine protective boots.
Contestant parent event average winning teams will receive "Hot Heels" roping machines.
* We are only accepting online entries. All entries must be submitted by 11:59 PM on June 8th, 2020. No exceptions.
What documentation is required for registration?
In order to register for Best of the Best 2020, a contestant must have been enrolled in the 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade of the 2019-2020 school year.
