Shelter Options in Gallup:

St. Joseph's Shelter: 400 N. 5th St, Gallup, NM 87301 505-722-5156

  • Accepts: Men; must be sober enough to follow COVID precautions and ambulate safely
  • Availability: Every night except Thursday night, starting around 3pm, doors close at Spm
  • Capacity: 19 men
  • Services: COVID screening with temperature and symptom checks, Dinner and Breakfast for nightly residents
  • Not a day shelter: residents must leave the next morning

  •  Accepts: Has shelter component for COVID recovered MEN (and COVID recovered WOMEN based on availability), must have a history of COVID positivity but not actively positive 
  • Timing: individuals can check-in after Spm, 7 days/week

Battered Families: 505-722-7483

  • Accepts: Domestic Violence/lntimatePartner Violence survivors (men, women, families)up to 90 days or longer in hotels if needed

    •  COVID negative MEN (limited availability)
    • COVID positive (active or recovered) MEN
    • COVID positive (active or recovered) WOMEN

  • Medical Detox Withdrawal Management
  • Accepts COVID negative and COVID recovered MEN & WOMEN who have used alcohol or other drugs in the past 7 days
  • COVID testing provided on-site

COVID Isolation/Quarantine Options (Requires Provider Referral):

  • Navajo Nation COVID Isolation Referral: 1-844-935-3932 (Isolation Sites in Chinle, Farmington, Tuba City)
  • Howard Johnson Hotel: Referrals accepted 8 am-midnight, 7days/week, Oxygen up to 4L/min can be accommodated
