“Look. Listen. Learn. Be aware. Fire can happen anywhere!” was the message at last night’s City Council meeting. A proclamation was presented to the Gallup Fire Department announcing Fire Prevention Week, October 7-13, 2018.

Along with the Proclamation declaring Oct 7-13, 2018 as Fire Prevention Week, City Councilor Yogosh Kumar, awarded the Gallup Fire Department $1000.00 to purchase smoke detectors for the citizens of Gallup. The purchase of the smoke detectors will complement the smoke detectors that the Gallup Fire Department will be installing in residents throughout Gallup and Gamerco on Oct 19^th and 20^th.

If you or anyone you know would like to take advantage of this free service. Please contact the Gallup Fire Department at 505-722-4195 to get your name on the list. A Fire Department representative will come to your home and inspect your smoke detectors and install a new smoke detector if needed.

The Proclamation and the smoke detector installation event is another means for the City of Gallup and the Gallup Fire Department to show we care for your Safety.
