As part of Fire Prevention Week, October 7 – 13, the Gallup
Fire Department works with local schools to provide Fire Safety Presentations
to students. The week was kicked off with visits to Rehoboth Elementary School,
Lincoln Elementary School and the Gallup Head Start. During the visits Students
enjoyed a fire prevention video, Kitchen Safety presentation in the Fire Safety
House, and a tour around a Fire Truck. Students were able to ask questions and
be challenged on their knowledge about being fire safe. In the picture Sparky the
Fire Dog was on hand to assist Fire Fighters in a Fire Truck Presentation to
students during the Fire Departments visit to the Gallup Head Start on October
10th.
Although Fire Prevention Week is only one week out of the
year, the Gallup Fire Department works with schools, businesses, event
coordinators, and groups of people throughout the year to provide Fire Safety
Tips and Education to the residents of the City of Gallup and surrounding area.
