This morning the Gallup Fire Department and the City of Gallup Water & Wastewater Department conducted a trench rescue training in the area of Warehouse Lane. The training was facilitated by Mr. Michael DeClercq and began with instruction on the use of the lightweight shoring system along with some basic trenching and excavation safety. Mr. DeClercq then led the participants through various scenarios involving trench collapse with victim rescue and removal. The training concluded with a group review and safety debriefing. This was a great team effort and helped strengthen the working relationship between the two departments.
