August 11, 2016—the recent structure fire that occurred at the Road Runner Motel was devastating to the Gallup community, although no one was seriously injured, many were left displaced. Despite the unfortunate event; local agencies and business from the Gallup community came together in an outstanding effort to support this overwhelming event.

The Gallup Fire Department would like to recognize and extend a sincere thank you, to all the agencies who assisted, McKinley County Fire & EMS, McKinley County Emergency Management, McKinley County Sheriff’s Department, New Mexico State Police Department, Gallup Police Department, City of Gallup Recreation & Parks Department, City of Gallup Utilities Department, Gallup Indian Medical Center, McKinley County Schools and American Red Cross. We would also like to thank Little Caesars Pizza and Glenn's Bakery for providing food for the fire victims.
