Proposed Redistricting Plans for the Four (4) Council Districts of the City of Gallup

This is a second presentation of the three (3) proposed redistricting plans prepared by New Mexico Demographic Research, LLC, (NMDR) to generate public discussion and input for redrawing the district boundaries of the City Council.  Rod Adair, President of NMDR, will be in attendance to provide an overview of the plans and to answer any questions.  The goal of this presentation is for the City Council to form a consensus to select a final redistricting plan at the Special Council Meeting to be held on November 16, 2021.  The final redistricting plan needs to be submitted to the Secretary of State's Office prior to the issuance of the statewide election proclamation on December 1, 2021 for the Municipal Officer Election to be held on March 1, 2022.

Based on the discussion at the November 2nd work session, the current district and precinct maps will be provided by NMDR prior to this work session.

Fiscal Impact:
The cost for professional services for redistricting have already been budgeted.
