Redistricting Plans for the City of Gallup
CITY COUNCIL REDISTRICTING
The Gallup City Council is required by law to redistrict its boundaries after each decennial census. Three (3) redistricting plans have been developed by the City of Gallup’s consultant, New Mexico Demographic Research, LLC, for consideration by the City Council. The plans will be reviewed and discussed at a Work Session to be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. The City Council will approve the final redistricting plan at a Special City Council Meeting to be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. Both meetings will be held at the City Council Chambers at Gallup City Hall, 110 West Aztec Avenue. The final redistricting plan needs to be submitted to the Secretary of State’s Office prior to the issuance of the statewide election proclamation on December 1, 2021 for the Municipal Officer Election to be held on March 1, 2022.
Both in-person meetings will also be accessible via live stream through the City of Gallup’s Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/CityOfGallup/. Comments by the public regarding the proposed redistricting plans may be submitted at the meeting in person or by calling 863-1254.
